Making the transition to the new standards a success

The new standard is less prescriptive than the old one, and there are very few changes affecting the core business. So, to make the transition a success, it may be sufficient to integrate provisions into the system to meet the additional requirements. These are mainly :

• greater attention to impartiality, with a commitment from laboratory management and an analysis of impartiality risks;

• if the laboratory is involved, customer information, in the event that data concerning the laboratory, in particular test or calibration results, are likely to be passed on to third parties;

• if the laboratory considers that some of its equipment has a negligible influence on test results, record the justification for this choice;
