Decision threshold
Critical value for which the probability of obtaining a measurement value greater than this value, when the measurand is zero, is equal to α
Detection limit
Concentration for which the probability of a measured value being below the decision threshold is equal to β
Quantification limit
True value of measurand whose estimate is given with a specified minimum uncertainty
Measurement value
Experimental value of the net signal, initially expressed in units of the signal (y ) and which can be converted into units of the measurand (x ) for the purposes of cumulation. When expressed in measurand units, its uncertainty also takes into account the uncertainty of the model. A measurement value corresponding to an observed signal can be negative
Measurement result
Estimation of the true value of the measurand, the quantity to...
