7. Assess compliance
In our example, the two standardized methods give similar results; the difference will become apparent when it comes to declaring conformity.
In fact, the French fascicule does not use air temperature to check the enclosure, but the data in the first table (see figure "Results by sensor X15-140"): "For an enclosure to be compliant, it is necessary that (...) the average of all the measurements of each sensor and its associated expanded uncertainty Umj belong to the MPE interval located around the specified value".
We have seen that European standard NF EN 60068-3-11 determines the air temperature, and that NF EN 60068-3-5 recommends taking uncertainty into account by reducing the tolerance by the value of the expanded uncertainty.
The rule for declaring conformity is therefore the same in both texts (extended uncertainty...
