Note that in the NF EN 60068-3 series of European standards, the terms homogeneity and stability (and their equivalents gradient and fluctuation) are used interchangeably to designate the parameter and the uncertainty component.
Let's take a look at the calculation methods recommended in the normative documents. For each parameter and uncertainty component, we propose an alternative method based on the fact that a statistical estimate is more relevant when based on means and standard deviations than on max values and max deviations.
