2. Control charts by attribute
Attribute-based control consists in controlling the quality of a qualitative variable by enumeration. This type of chart is generally used to monitor a quantity or proportion of defects or non-conformities.
The P-card, where "p" is the proportion of defective parts contained in a sample, enables the proportion of defective parts to be tracked chronologically. A quantity n of parts is taken at regular intervals (noted k ) and the proportion of defective parts is counted. Over a long period, the average proportion Pm is deduced, along with the monitoring limits LS and control limits LC .
