5. Maintenance and calibration
After installation and qualification, all equipment must be subject to a planned maintenance and calibration program.
Calibration involves determining the deviation of the device using reference materials, preferably certified. It should always be carried out before the OQ/PQ. It is often followed by adjustment.
Preventive maintenance involves planned servicing of equipment, with checkpoints and replacement of parts. It reduces the risk of breakdowns by detecting problems before they occur, and helps extend the life of the equipment.
