1.1 General description
The description presented here is restricted to single-element ultrasonic transducers based on piezoelectric active elements. Thus, capacitive or electromagnetic transducers (EMAT) which, unlike piezoelectric transducers, do not require the use of coupling fluid but are still difficult to miniaturize, will not be discussed
