3. Characteristics determined during testing
The heat flow calibration described in ISO 5660-1 is carried out on a daily basis to check the correct operation of the measuring equipment and to compensate for minor variations in the determination of the mass flow.
The method for calibrating heat flow is described in paragraph 10.2.4 of ISO 5660-1.
Calibration deviating by more than 5% from the previous calibration is abnormal and suggests a malfunction in the equipment. In this case, the equipment must be checked to identify the source of the deviation (leak, open cold trap, etc.).
