The aim of this section is to illustrate how the above recommendations can be used to create a machining range and production cost forecasts. To establish an optimum machining range, the first technical choices are determined by the general qualities targeted. Next, the forecast production costs can be considered. These two points are addressed in turn below, and illustrated by application to the machining of sintered mechanical components.
