Wear Theory. Approaches by Elasticity and Balance Equations

The counterpart 2 of the solid 1 whose wear is being modeled is assumed to be rough, and its hardness at least 25% greater than that of the solid 1 under consideration, which eliminates wear by abrasion of 2 by solid 1 (cf. [TRI501] ). In the article [TRI505] , we present and model its wear modes. In the models in this article, the contact is assumed to be dry or in a state of boundary lubrication.
