Acyclism; instantaneous angular speed variations
Instantaneous variations in rotational speed induced by cyclic
variations in the torques exerted on the engine. Acyclism depends
on the number of cylinders in the engine, the time intervals between
ignitions, as well as the arrangement of the cylinders, the shape
of the crankshaft and the ignition sequence adopted.
Effet des gaz; gas effects
The pressure in the combustion chamber induces forces and moments
that apply to the engine block and crankshaft (engine torque).
Effets des inerties ; effects of inertia
Moving parts such as pistons, connecting rods and crankshafts
are accelerated or decelerated depending on the moment in the combustion
cycle. These non-uniform motions create forces and moments. These
