Controlling the various actuators (in the broadest sense of the term) on the test bench involved integrating control and servo functions, safety levels, learning and calibration phases into the control system.

Depending on the architecture of the test bench and the desired operating modes, these different functions can be performed locally in systems dedicated to a specific function, or centralized in the bench automation system.

The torque and speed control function of the combustion engine, which is linked to the load machine and the gas pedal actuator, is generally performed by a stand-alone control rack. This system handles all the functions associated with these actuators and their power and measurement electronics:
