Depending on the type of result required (which depends on the level of progress of an industrial propeller development project), several calculation methods will be used in succession:
In the early stages of the project, simple, rapid methods are used to determine the propeller's overall performance and to select its geometry (singularity method);
in the advanced design phase, more complex methods are used to characterize in detail the behavior of the chosen propeller in its environment (Euler or Navier/Stokes).
