3. Fog evolution
Multiphase flows - gas flows with solid or liquid particles, liquid flows with vapor bubbles or solid or liquid particles of another phase - involve exchanges between phases, chemical reactions, particle disintegration and agglomeration, and various interactions between particles.
Describing fluid-particle exchanges is a problem in itself, and requires modeling at the particle scale to determine, for example, the effects of friction, the regression speed of a burning drop, etc. These exchange laws must then be translated to the scale of the multiphase mixture, and the balance equations written and solved.
