5. Analytical monitoring
To limit health risks for employees and for technical and economic reasons, it is advisable to monitor various parameters during use. The INRS, a generalist organization in occupational health and safety, recommends monitoring the following, for example:
the pH according to the supplier's recommendations;
the concentration of the active ingredient according to the supplier's recommendations;
the nitrite content in the event of the actual or suspected presence of secondary amines. This must not exceed 20 mg/L.–1 ;
The microorganism content must not exceed 106 CFU/ml–1. This technical criterion is defined to prevent degradation of the cutting fluid, but it also helps to limit health risks.
