3. An attempt at synthesis
The aim here is to compare the approaches developed in
[TRI502]
and the present article, in order to assess their suitability for modelling wear on metal alloys. First, it is shown that the burr extrusion wear model can approximately verify the Preston-Archard law, often observed experimentally, and then the effect of hard solid roughness characteristics on the wear law is discussed.
