3. Thermodynamics of centripetal turbines
To establish the general relationships, useful for centripetal turbines, we assume that :
the regime is stationary, which implies that the flow is considered to be permanent in a reference frame linked to the fixed blades (distributor) or linked to the moving blades (rotor);
the flow is one-dimensional;
the action of gravity on the gas in the turbine is negligible;
the rotor speed is constant.
No assumptions will be made about the nature of these developments.
