6. Conclusion
This article on transportable pressure equipment proves that, in this field as in many others now, regulation and standardization are closely complementary, and that standardization is driven by regulation because of all the references made in the latter.
As a result, standards - even if they are not mandatory in the original sense of the word, but only ratified by CEN or harmonized by the European Communities - have become indispensable. These standards are well known and applied, thanks to ministerial representatives and standardizers who work with industry to publish and reference them as far upstream as possible.
