1. Physical principles
Brazing is governed by three fundamental physical principles, which are entirely interrelated. Only the combination of these three principles can result in a quality brazed joint that meets all industrial specifications (mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, appearance, cost...).
Wetting, in the context of brazing, corresponds to the spreading of the filler metal alloy on a metal and/or ceramic surface, when brought to a liquid state and under satisfactory operating conditions (surface preparation, atmosphere, temperature, etc.).
