Compensation for diameter variation

When the focusing optics move relative to the laser, and if collimation is not sufficient, a system must be implemented to compensate for the diameter variation at the entrance to the focusing optics.

Several systems are available, ranging from automatically-adjustable collimation to moving mirror systems that keep the laser-to-head distance constant. In larger systems, we have also considered mounting the laser on a platform that carries the head itself.
