Calculation of screw assemblies

In industrial reality, it is very rare to find assemblies where the resultant of the load is carried by the axis of the screw. Only the rod-piston assembly of cylinders can be classified in this category, and its dimensioning is based on the expressions developed in [BM 5 561] .

For certain assemblies, considered particularly critical, designers adopt arrangements such that the eccentricity of the resultant load is minimal. This is the case for "piano" fittings used in aircraft construction (figure
