Uncertainty analysis is performed to describe the range of possible outputs as a function of the uncertainty (variations) of the inputs, and to study the effect of lack of knowledge or model errors. As mentioned above, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS), classified as a probabilistic method, is widely used for uncertainty analysis.
