1. Steels
The standardized designation of steels is the subject of standards NF EN 10027-1 and NF EN 10027-2, circular IC 10 (documentation fascicle A 02-005-3 May 1993).
1.1 Symbolic designation
There are two main groups:
group 1: steels designated on the basis of their use and their mechanical or physical characteristics ;
group 2: steels designated by their chemical composition.
