1. Definitions
The deflection noted f (generally in mm) represents the displacement of the point of application of a force when it is applied to the initially free spring.
The word arrow is reserved for the geometric deflection of a leaf in a leaf spring.
The stroke is the displacement of the point of application of the force between two values of a force.
