1. Hardware and software information processing

Whereas the microprocessor used to manage part of the measurement chain, it now handles all digital data processing.

At the end of the measurement chain, the acquired data is put into a digital form that can be processed by the microprocessor. The microprocessor's role is to read the data, process it digitally (if necessary) and, in any case, store it at least temporarily. The device used for this purpose is described in § 1.1 and § 1.2
