6. Multi-range scales

These scales have a real scale interval d which varies according to the scale range (e.g. DeltaRange, DualRange, MultiRange and PolyRange scales). To reduce the final uncertainty, each range should be considered as an individual scale.

Example of a multi-range scale:

DualRange analytical balance :

  • range 1: from 0 to 80 g, d 1 = 0.01 mg

  • range 2: from 80 to 220 g, d 2 = 0.1 mg

MultiRange industrial scale :

  • range 1: from 0 to 15 kg, d 1 = 5 g

  • range 2: from 15 to 30 kg, d ...
