6.1.1 Principle of power supply from distribution boards

Whether used in a power generation plant or in industry, motors are generally supplied by electrical switchboards. The most powerful motors, typically those with a rated power of a few hundred kW or more, are supplied by switchboards with a rated voltage generally in the HTA (High Voltage A) range, from 3 kV to 10 kV, and exceptionally even higher.
