2.1 Bases
Switching concerns the study of electrical state changes of the two switches K1 and K2 of the elementary cell between their two complementary static states (K1 blocked – K2 passing; K1 passing – K2 blocked). This is therefore a study of transient electrical phenomena.
The term "priming" refers to the switching of a switch from maximum resistivity ("blocked" static state with negligible leakage current compared to the rated current involved) to minimum resistivity ("on" static state with negligible voltage drop compared to the rated voltage involved). Blocking" refers to the reverse switching of a switch.
