3. Stress resistance evaluation
To assess the stress resistance of insulation systems, it is necessary to carry out tests in order to :
validate the choice of materials at the design stage;
assess operating limits;
validate safety aspects in normal and accidental operation;
a method for controlling the insulation system;
predict long-term behavior;
assess environmental impacts from design to end-of-life.
These studies, preliminary to the development of the insulation system, must be carried out with rigor, analyzing what already exists and exploring new avenues proposed by science. It's a long-term process that can take several years, depending on the complexity of the system...
