3. Performance parameterization
The performance of a permanent magnet is defined by several parameters. These allow us to judge not only the quality of the magnet, but also its "reaction" in a known environment.
The energy product of a magnet is the product of the remanent induction BR and the coercive field Hc. This quantity enables the designer to choose the magnet best suited to his system, as it defines the magnet's optimum working point.
