3. Sodium-sulfur battery

Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of the sodium-sulfur accumulator. The two electrodes separated by an alumina β wall are made of molten sulfur and sodium respectively. The insulating nature of sulfur requires the positive compartment to be fitted with a carbon felt to ensure current collection.
