The isolated power supply for a power transistor's local gate control circuit is very specific. For a 1,200 V-50 A range, the gate control component consumes no more than around 3 W, i.e. the power to be supplied by the power supply, in quasi-constant mode. Two main constraints characterize this application: high isolation at dV/dt and low volume to reduce the distance to the gate drive component, and thus reduce parasitic inductances
