The applications envisaged for supercapacitors include :

• automotive applications, in particular new hybrid powertrain architectures;

• urban public transport: buses, streetcars, subways, trains... ;

• industrial applications such as uninterruptible power supplies, emergency power supplies, measuring devices... ;

• home electronics: cameras...

• In the automotive segment, supercapacitor technology fulfils the following functions:

  • start-up, especially with low-temperature constraints;

  • power units for hybrid powertrains (acceleration assistance and energy recovery);

  • auxiliary power supply.
