Voltage probe measurement methodology

For fast switching measurements, we need a measuring instrument with a high bandwidth. To track a signal with a rise time ( t _r ), we are limited by the maximum rise time allowed by the meter ( t _m ) and the slew rate of the input amplifiers. As a result, the rise time restored at the output of the meter ( t _s ) is greater than t _r . The relationship between these times is given by : $t_{\text{s}}^2=t_{\text{r}}^2+t_{\text{m}}^2$
