6. Asynchronous motor
Today, the development of traction systems using asynchronous motors, particularly those supplied with impressed voltage, is booming thanks to technological advances in power semiconductors and signal processors, which enable complex control algorithms to be executed in real time.
For rail traction, we use three-phase asynchronous motors with single-cage rotors and 2 or 3 pairs of poles, depending on the performance required.
