Electromagnets for electromechanical systems

A wide variety of electromagnets are available:

• control solenoids ;

• relays and contactors ;

• clutches and brakes ;

• carrier electromagnet ;

• solenoid and servo-valves ;

• electromagnetic actuators.

Depending on the application, electromagnets can take many different forms (Figure 6). Broadly speaking, electromagnets can be divided into four categories.
