AC, DC, AC/AC, AC/DC, DC/AC
AC alternating current; DC direct current; AC/DC AC/DC conversion; DC/AC DC/AC conversion; AC/AC AC/AC conversion, generally between asynchronous networks or at different frequencies.
Fundamental frequency
The fundamental is often referred to as the frequency of the power distribution network. To take variable-frequency converters into account, it's the frequency from which power is transmitted (simple example: motorizations).
Harmonic frequency
Frequency, integer multiple, of the fundamental frequency.
Interharmonic frequency
Any frequency that is not an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency.
Statocompensator, SVC
A dynamic compensation device consisting of capacitors and a TCR, it is basically a continuously variable reactive power. The term SVC describes the same thing:...
