3. Description of HV and HVB cables
The range of medium-voltage (MV) cables extends from 3 to 45 kV. High voltage (HTB) covers voltages from 45 to 180 kV, while very high voltage (THT ) covers voltages from 180 to 400 kV. Beyond that, we enter the realm of ultra-high voltage.
3.1 HV cables

HV cables can be non-radial-field cables (belt cables), i.e. the screen surrounds all the conductors. Generally speaking, the insulated conductors are assembled under an insulating sheath, called a belt, which supports the screen (figure 3 ). This type of cable is used for phase-to-phase voltages not exceeding 15 kV.
