3. Fast Neutron Reactors (FNR)

We have seen, in the context of slow-neutron reactors, that depleted uranium and spent fuel are considered waste since they cannot be effectively reused in this reactor type. However, they potentially contain an enormous amount of energy that can be harnessed using fast-neutron reactor technology.
