Hydrogen, as an energy carrier, is at the heart of a diverse and complex ecosystem. Complex because of the multiple means of production and the diversity of uses, but also because of the changing regulatory, economic and technological context.

The diagram at 5 shows the four main areas of application for green hydrogen in network use:

• heating: substitution of natural gas by green hydrogen to decarbonize building heating ;

• industry: powering high-temperature industrial processes and producing renewable heat;
