1. Hydrogen energy conversion
As a fuel that emits neither greenhouse gases nor pollutants, it would seem natural to burn it to produce heat as part of the ecological transition. Thus, for domestic use, hydrogen could be used to heat homes, and for industrial use, hydrogen could form the basis of heat-intensive processes. As far as the first point is concerned, there are no direct heating systems using pure hydrogen; although it would offer the best possible thermal efficiency, this application, which is currently being studied, has not yet been put into practice. Instead, we prefer fuel cell cogeneration of heat and power. On the other hand, the addition of natural gas to hydrogen from the so-called "fuel cell" process is gaining ground.
