How to identify the CNG production process based on the local energy source?

CNG can be produced :

• or from the exploitation of an underground natural gas deposit;

• or from biomass.

As part of the energy transition, the production of CNG from the exploitation of an underground deposit of natural gas (hence hydrocarbons) is not a recommended process, as it promotes a large amount of CO ₂ emissions undesirable for the fight against global warming. For this practical sheet, we limit ourselves for the remainder solely to explaining the processes involved in producing CNG from biomass.
