Risk assessment for natural refrigerants

The scenarios and risk calculation methods described in the first part of this article reflect a general approach applicable within the framework of environmental protection legislation governing classified installations. They are applicable to industrial facilities containing large quantities of fluids.

For refrigeration systems, the following points should be taken into account:

• The vast majority of installations where the use of hydrocarbons is potentially interesting are domestic (refrigerators, air conditioners) or commercial.
