Who finances renovation work?
Renovation work is financed by energy suppliers, who have an obligation to encourage all energy consumers (individuals, industry, businesses, hotels, restaurants, etc.) to undertake renovation work to reduce their energy consumption.
The Energy Savings Certificates or CEE scheme is one of the government's flagship measures to meet the need to reduce energy consumption in France. It was introduced in 2006. In addition, the French government, through its France Relance program launched in September 2020, provides additional subsidies based on the work carried out.
