13. Driving instrumentation
The instrumentation used to operate the naval propulsion PWR is similar to that used for the land-based generator PWR. It measures :
core: neutron flux, reactivity, position of control absorbers, moderator temperature ;
reactivity control absorber operating mechanisms: forces or torques and operating speed ;
primary circuit: temperatures at the main points of the circuit, pressure in the vicinity of the core outlet and associated saturation temperature (to determine the pressurization margin), primary pump rotation speed, bearing temperatures, electrical power consumption, load losses ;
