INTRODUCTION
In situ studies make it possible to observe levels of radioactivity in the environment, and to track them in space and time as a function of changes in the various source terms: fallout from atmospheric tests, discharges, etc. The results help to raise questions about how pollutants are transferred. Taken together, these studies make it possible to quantify the radioecological impact of radionuclides in the environment.
