Step 1 – Raw material reception and grading
On receipt, the quality of raw materials is checked. Generally, starch and protein content are analyzed to monitor extraction yields.

Step 2 – Component separation
This stage involves a series of simple operations to physically separate the components: crushing, sieving, centrifuging and so on. However, manufacturing methods are specific to each botanical origin, and industrial tools are often dedicated to a particular raw material:
the wheat is ground and then soaked in water. The resulting mixture is then separated using centrifugal separators and hydrocyclones, and sieved to separate the various components;
