The starch mill separates the components of corn, wheat, potatoes, manioc, peas, etc. into starches, proteins, cellulose envelopes, soluble fractions and, in the case of corn, the germ from which the oil will be extracted. The resulting starch suspension is then transformed into various products: native starches, modified starches, glucose syrups, sweeteners, polyols, etc. (figure
