Capture and storage of CO _{2 emissions} apply in the case of concentrated CO ₂ , like those from a large coal-fired power plant.

On the figure 4 is a diagram of a CO ₂ , extracting CO ₂ in the flue gas, generally by washing with a solvent, to compress the CO ₂ extracted and transported to an underground storage site. The CO ₂ can then be injected into the subsoil and stored permanently.
