INTRODUCTION
Fluorine is produced by electrolysis of the hydrofluoric acid contained in the anhydrous molten salt KF, 2 HF at a temperature close to 100 ˚C.
Its main use is in the nuclear industry for the synthesis of uranium hexafluoride, a form in which uranium is enriched in its fissile isotope (U
235
) by gaseous diffusion or ultracentrifugation.
Fluorine is also used in the synthesis of inorganic compounds such as SF

(dielectric), WF
